As one of the programme managers, I coached and led our team to train a group of 50 volunteers to interact with the beneficiaries during interactions.
I organised meetings, took notes and was in charge of bringing our volunteers together through a bonding session.
One Heart 2021
One Heart is a Joint Polytechnic Service Learning Project which involves international and local students from all five polytechnics. The main objective of this project is to include social integration and bring joy to our beneficiaries. This year, we worked with SG Accident Help Centre to gather our fellow migrant workers for interaction sessions.
There was a total of 6 interaction sessions on Sundays.
The first 2 Sundays from 2pm to 4pm.
The last 2 Sundays from 2pm to 4pm and 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
During our these sessions, we taught them English with the help of our volunteers.

Some challenges I faced included not meeting the number of beneficiaries expected for the event, thus having to regroup the volunteers to ensure all of them had a chance to interact.
Overall, I took away a lot of knowledge from this event.
Learning more leadership skills, how to interact with
different people and organising events.
